Yomi in Tom Vasel's Top 100 of All Time—Again

Congratulations! Flash Duel is in the Top 100, too. At # 64, to be precise. I am a bit sad that Puzzle Strike isn't on the list, though. Even if Tom likes it less than other deckbuilders (there are a few of those on the list), I think the 3rd edition and/or Shadows defintely deserves a place. I find this especially weird because Tom normally likes games with direct player interaction, but he ranks deckbuilders with low interaction quite high and doesn't rank Puzzle Strike at all.
He might reconsider if Sirlin ever publishes PS: the card version.
@ Alhazard: I forgot that Tom disliked the chips. He seemed to focus on the advantages that cards have over chips while disregarding / playing down their disadvantages (especially in a game with constant shuffling). That said, there actually is a "PS: the card version" already available. You can download it directly from Sirlin Games. ;)
Tom Vasel already made his peace with the chips -- he said that the addition of the screens made the chips fine by him and he no longer faults the game for being chips over cards. And he's right, the chips were too cumbersome for many people before the screens came out and now they're no problemo
Call me crazy, but I actually don't like using chips to play PS. They are really cumbersome to handle compared to cards. I've been wanting to invest in making the PnP version of PS, just so I can see what it's like. I agree that shuffling my deck every time will be slightly annoying and fairly time-consuming, but I hope that the ease of use during gameplay will make up for that (not time-wise, but just usage-wise).
Of course, I think the best way to play PS is online, though! No set-up or clean-up required, and it's always the most current version! :D
To be honest, playing PS with the physical Deluxe Edition chips and bags was pretty terrible - the chips wouldn't glide on each other <I>or</I> the bag, which was too small to shuffle adequately anyway.
The third edition actually delivers on the promises of chips being better than cards in a number of ways. Cards still have their own advantages, but I wouldn't make the switch if offered. Also, the new bags use an extra piece of fabric to create a legitimate bottom, which helps greatly when shuffling by opening up the space on the inside.
