Yomi and Puzzle Strike, Finally Shipping

Both Yomi and the new second printing of Puzzle Strike are finally shipping! They started shipping yesterday, and will continue to ship today, monday, and tuesday. They are going out by earliest orders first, and I think all orders will be shipped by the end of tuesday, as far as I know. Or maybe wednesday if it gets hectic.

Also, Ken B. over at FortressAT.com gave Puzzle Strike his award for Game of the Year 2010. Wow!

And as mentioned before, Tom Vasel gave Yomi a 10 out of 10. (He gave Puzzle Strike an 8, btw.)

I hope you guys enjoy the games! If you ordered one or both, get your friends ready to play soon!

I made my Puzzle Strike order on amazon, Jan. 7th. It still reads shipping soon, but can I still hope to get and enjoy my copy soon?

As a footnote, Tom Vasel just named Yomi his preliminary #1 game of 2010 (Puzzle Strike made his top 10 as well).
Congrats! I'm eagerly awaiting my copy.

I just bought the full version. I'm curious how long shipping will take to the U.K.?

I got my set on the 10th. Since then I've played about 15 hours of Yomi, including one Pokemon-like game where a friend and I chose three characters and switched them in and out (akin to Kongai, except with no healing). The game is awesome, Sirlin. I hope you sell a billion copies.

My box arrived today in the ciy of Dunedin, at the lower end of New Zealand.
I've just finished my first game with my flatmate and enjoyed it, even though neither of us had any idea how to play :)
Look forward to learning all the various strategies, cheers Sirlin :)

John: No they should have shipped together. Let me know if you didn't receive your order yet.

Jaymark: I'd like to do that, but there's just so many things to do that I don't know if I'll get to it. Sounds like a good idea though.

Avocategory: Really? I didn't see him say those particular things, but great! Maybe you meant preliminary #1 game of 2011?

January 16, 2011 | Registered CommenterSirlin

@Sirlin: It's in the Dice Tower podcast #195. PS gets named as Tom Vasel's #8 pick at the 29:26, Yomi is #1 at 53:00.

I see that shipping to Canada is 20$? Ouch. I would like a Yomi 2-pack but that's too much for something that small, sorry.

I bought Flash Duel a few days after its release and it wasn't that expensive to ship. What happened since then?

January 17, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSR

SR: Yeah it wouldn't make much sense to buy just a 2-pack, because of shipping. For reference, if you bought two 2-packs, or 20 2-packs, or complete Yomi + Puzzle Strike, it would still total the same $20. So it makes a lot more sense with bigger orders.

Flash Duel has good shipping prices to Canadians because I'm storing it in Canada. For Yomi and Puzzle Strike, I'm not doing that. It's all stored in the US which makes for much better efficiency overall considering the huge percentage of US sales I get compared to Canadian. Anyway, that brings me to my next point: if you really do want something fairly cheap such as a 2-pack, and you're in Canada and want to avoid $20 in shipping, the best answer is to use your local brick-and-mortar stores. They are able to stock Puzzle Strike and Yomi (including the 2-packs). If they happen not to have the games, you can ask them to stock them. Hope that helps.

In relation to the canadian shipping post, can we expect to see it appear on amazon.ca any time soon?

Finally got my copy of Yomi in the mail yesterday. I love it! Card quality is great, they shuffle really nicely. I particularly like that you included small tuck boxes for each deck with a copy of the rules so I don't have to take the whole box with me if I don't want to. Really, really pleased with the production quality. Keep up the great work!

Yep - on the Dice Tower podcast, they did a preliminary top 10 of 2010 (the actual Dice Tower awards happen 6 months into the next year), and Yomi was at the top of his list.

Is the online Yomi test down? I can't seem to connect to the server, and I wanted to give a game a try because I was thinking of buying it.

After playing the online version of Puzzle Strike, I purchased a copy for my friend and got a copy for myself for Xmas. I met up with my friend in Vegas this weekend and instead of partying on the strip, we probably played 18 or 20 odd games of PS. He has a fair amount of experience with Dominion, and a lot of the skills transfer, so we had competitive games almost from the start, even with him having not seen any of the character chips in detail before we started playing.

I was very happy with the manufacturing quality of the 2nd edition set and I'm very much looking forward to playing more and more over the years.

Yepow: lol at you playing Puzzle Strike instead going out to the Vegas strip. :)
