Flash Duel Review and Sale

Here's a review of Flash Duel from what my Finnish friend describes as "the biggest boardgame website and authority in Finland." You might need Google Translate.

And for an American take, here's Fortress Ameritrash's review. Both sites said 4.5/5.

And while we're talking about Flash Duel, both versions are on sale at Amazon for a week for US customers. Deluxe version $39->$29. Regular version $15.99->12.99. Usually I'd say it's better to buy from my site, but Amazon has this crazy policy where they automatically disable your seller account over the holidays unless you sell 25 copies of something during September and October. I can't sell Yomi there yet because it's not manufactured yet, but I won't be able to list it there over the holidays unless I sell some Flash Duel there now. So now would be a good time to help out! Yeah it's weird. And again, this is only a US thing.

Thanks!

I'd love to, unfortunately it wont allow internationally shipping. I've bought a print and play version instead. I'm looking forward to playing it!

That's right, Amazon US will not do international shipping at all. My own site (www.sirlingames.com) does ship internationally, fyi. There is even Flash Duel inventory in the UK and Canada right now.

Do you do shipping to Australia? And how much is shipping? Would love to grab your games.

Alright let me help ya out. Been meaning to try Flash Duel and also, I'm a sucker for sales.

Luke: Yes, sirlingames.com will ship to australia or anywhere, it will just be really expensive. It's all automated, you can add stuff to your cart and put in your address and see how much it would be. Sorry for the shipping prices, I don't make any money off those, it's exactly what I get charged.

Bowzachi: haha, thanks!

I finally got round to buying a copy today. Went through sirlingames as I'm from the UK. I was looking at getting the Deluxe version and probably would have done if I could get the Amazon offer but hey I don't really have enough space in my room for the larger box anyway :P

Good luck with getting the Amazon sales and I'm glad to do what little I can to help keep the wolf from the door, so to speak.

Thanks Rodion, hope you enjoy it.

In for one of the standard copies. I actually really like the look of the deluxe, but honestly it'll get less play in a bigger box. Much easier to cart around in the small form factor, I figure, and obviously also cheaper. I'm a fan of En Garde already, though, so an enhanced version of the same idea is a no brainer for me to enjoy. :)

Now I just have to wait for it to get here. Ugh. I hate that part of ordering things online. Need digital delivery for physical goods.

Hmm... when I follow the link on Amazon, or do a search for "Flash Duel," the only thing that comes up is the regular edition. Is Amazon not stocking the Deluxe anymore for some reason?

September 17, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterGhantu

Wow, was going to pick up Deluxe from Amazon, but it's apparently sold out. I guess the sale was popular.

The Deluxe version is actually smaller than you'd expect. It easily fits into the pocket of the duffel-coat I wear during winter.

Ghantu, thanks for pointing that out. I see what the problem is, they ran out of inventory, but I can set it up to have it ship from another location that already has plenty of inventory. It might take a day or so for the change to go through, then Amazon should show the Deluxe version again.

Glad I got the Deluxe before it ran out. Hope you've met or are close to meeting your Amazon "quota"

Just opened my package. Love the new game smell! Looks like fun.

Ok both Flash Duel regular and Deluxe should be showing up on Amazon again. Thanks again to Ghantu for alerting me that it was showing up as sold out before. It's in stock and ships right away.

I'm interested in using an Amazon gift voucher to buy Flash Duel; however I'm in British Columbia, Canada. I can't seem to find Sirlin games on amazon.ca. Is there a way around this? Is Canada Amazon not selling Sirlin games? You mentioned in an above comment David, that you have stock in Canada ready to go - is that from your own distributors (i.e. not Amazon) Do I need to purchase the game from sirlin games?
Thanks!

Amazon.ca is (strangely) a completely separate thing than amazon.com. You would be surprised to learn how different they are, actually, and how completely different the German, Japanese, and other versions are. They each require completely separate seller accounts, separate listing of products, separate fees, separate rules and requirements, and a BANK ACCOUNT in each of those countries to get paid.

Anyway, Amazon.com is only for US customers, and they will not sell to anyone with a shipping address outside the US (yeah I know that's super lame). For non-US customers, you can buy from www.sirlingames.com though. When I said Flash Duel is in stock in Canada and will ship right away, I meant if you buy it from that site.

I grabbed one of the regular versions. I actually got the deluxe as a gift a month or two ago, so now I can do mirror matches. Hopefully you've about hit that 25 copy minimum.
