Japanese Players Enjoying SF HD Remix
Here's a video of Japanese Street Fighter players (including Otochun and Aniken) playing SF HD Remix. Skip to about 1:05:00 or so for when they finally get going.
They are having such a good time that it makes even more fun to watch. They all laugh (in happiness I think!) when Vega's wall dive doesn't knock down, and when someone lands a fake slide into throw with Bison. They also get excited that Ken can now do his super as a reversal.
With Daigo and Tokido both saying good things about the game, Muteki, Yuu Vega, and Jodim all playing on XBLA, and videos like this one, it seems they are pretty into it. Aniken said this (to Masa) in the comment thread about an HD Remix event there:
> Masa
I also think it would be interesting and fun to have HD at the game center
but we have to face reality, there's nothing we can do about it!
For Ken, Remix Ryu and Sagat are very difficult opponents, it's fun!♪
Looking forward to seeing you at Sunday's tourney!
Too bad the game isn't actually released in Japan, it seems like it would do really well.

This is hilarious to watch them creating a Western XBox Live account to download western-only content, because I've done exactly the same thing in reverse to download Japan-only and USA-only content :D
I really wish HDR was released in Japan. But apparently Capcom is a too much of a big dumb corporation to manage sensible things like this :(
I wish there was a way to make a strong request for an HDR release either on Japan's XBL/PSN or in the arcades... but it does seem impossible, doesn't it?
While I'm sure there are more complicated reasons for this, I can't help but think there's some sort of xenophobia coming from Capcom Japan regarding this game. Whenever I tell someone that HDR is not available in Japan they get confused. It simply doesn't make any sense! Do they deliberately ignore HDR because it's not made in Japan?
It's funny how, contrary to all the ideologue libertarian claims of Homo Economicus and rational actors, corporations like Capcom and Microsoft seem to go out of their way to find new ways to NOT take your money.
Didn't watch the whole thing (just flicked around the matches)
But another move that got a big reaction was Guiles Fierce Flash Kick.
I can't speak Japanese, but "WTF was that?" sounds the same in any language :D
I'm your first supporter David, but a few pro players getting hype about some precise balance changes deosn't mean the game would do well there (but I wish it would)
Henry Cen set up a Super Street Fighter IV cabinet at Chinatown Fair that makes players pay 25 cents for 4 minutes or something like that, then players put a token in each side of the cabinet when they get on. I wish they'd figure something out like that
