Yomi and Puzzle Strike (2nd Printing) Pre-orders
At long last, you can finally pre-order Yomi and the 2nd printing of Puzzle Strike. Both the games will be available in January. This is the first release ever of Yomi after 6 years of development. I already released Puzzle Strike, but this new version will finally allow the game to be available in large quantities and at a lower price (with cheaper shipping in the US, also).
I made a couple videos that show the components of the games. I don't go into the awesomeness of the gameplay in these videos, so you'll just have to take my word that they both have pretty awesome and balanced gameplay. Or you can play the early-in-development online versions for free at fantasystrike.com/dev and see for yourself. (Players there will be happy to teach you, I'm sure.)
Here's a video showing what's in the Yomi box:
And here's one showing what's inside the Puzzle Strike box:
This is the culmination of years of work of design, balancing, tournament playtesting, art creation, packaging design, and exacting manufacturing preparation. When I saw the finished product and how well it turned out, I was supposed to feel excited, but really I just felt relief. Now it's your turn to get excited though.
I hope you enjoy Yomi and Puzzle Strike.

Hey shipping in JAN now?!
The fantasystrike.com/dev site was great. I had a good sense that I might be interested in Puzzle Strike (I've been following this site for years) before going to the dev site. MadKing was nice enough to teach me how to play. I showed up having read the rules and he showed me the ropes. I think I'm hooked after 1 game.
As a result, I ordered one copy for my friend today, and expect my wife to order me a copy for Christmas. Looking forward to getting a chance to play. (Given that I bought my friend the 2nd edition, where do I get the print'n'play?)
Yepow: glad you liked it. The fantasystrike site doesn't actually tell you anything about how to play yet, so I'm kind of worried about that, but it sounds like got over the hump. The rulebook at sirlin.net/ps/rules is hopefully pretty good as a start!
If you pre-order Puzzle Strike 2nd printing, you should get an e-mail with a download link for the print-and-play. It is not the same e-mail as the one that confirms your order. Check your spam folder, it's probably there. If it's not, you can contact me and I'll have that e-mail resent to you, and/or you can give me a different e-mail address. So far there has been the occasional problem with those e-mails, and I've noticed that it never goes wrong with a gmail address, but occasionally a yahoo or hotmail address doesn't get the e-mail. Only occasionally though, so not sure what's up with that.
Ah yes, right you are--it was spam-foldered.
Simply updating the /dev website under "how to play" with the two links

is probably a lightweight way to get people going. Learning the interface took all of 1 game for me, so I can't imagine it being too onerous.
Can't wait to get my bag o' chips in the new year.
Are there any plans to sell the special edition of Puzzle Strike again after the 2nd printing?
Thanks, Sirlin and Bardic. I'll use my trusty inkjet to print the mock-ups in that case. I also just signed up on fantasystrike.com/dev, so I'll be playing on there, too! :D
I know this post was about pre-orders for yomi and puzzle strike 2E but I've decided I want to pick up flash duel while I wait for my yomi to ship in january. Is there a preferance at this point (i noticed you needed people to buy from amazon earlier. I was holding out that Yomi would ship before christmas but I'm just happy it's coming) from where I buy it? If it nets you more dough, I'd be happy to get it straight from sirlin games. Thanks.
Hi Todd,
I tried and tried to get Yomi and Puzzle Strike 2nd printing before Christmas. There are just so many things that can cause delays and some of them I wasn't able to avoid, unfortunately.
To answer your question, the current situation is that no matter where you buy any of my stuff, it's coming from the same place. It's only a question of how much you want to give various middlemen. When you buy from sirlingames.com, the biggest percentage goes to me. When you buy from Amazon, they take 15% and you get no real benefit (meaning you don't get it faster or cheaper or anything). If you buy it in stores, then various middlemen take like 70% or something huge when you add it all up. That said, it's cool that Yomi and PS are capable of being in stores at all, if your local game stores know to stock it.
So does anybody know a UK stockist for Puzzle Strike 2nd Ed yet?
I've been following the development of the game keenly and am ready to jump in now the price has fallen significantly but paying 30USD shipping for a 60USD game seems a bit unsatisfying.
Are the playmats for Yomi essentially large thin mousepads (as they look to me in the video) - rubbery on the back and textured fabric on top? Thanks. Everything looks great.
Chris L: yes, they're made of the same stuff that playmats are generally made of, which is black textured rubber on the bottom to grip the table and printed fabric on the top, just like mouse pads.
I pre-ordered Puzzle Strike before Xmas - is it possible to get a potential pre-order of Yomi into the same shipment (to Australia)?
Doug, unfortunately it's harder for me to change orders after they are placed now because I'm handing it off to another company. If you act pretty soon, you could make a second order, pay the shipping again, but tell me about it in a PM or sirlin.net/contact or something and I can paypal you the amount of that extra shipping. Sorry I don't have a better way right now.
