Street Fighter Tutorial Videos
I made these Street Fighter tutorial videos Capcom Classics Collection 2 (PlayStation 2 / Xbox).
These videos are meant to help new players see the game in a way they might not have thought of (as a collection of rectangles dueling for control of space). They also demonstrate lots of the standard techniques in Street Fighter such as 2in1s, "meaty" attacks, and reversals. I also show some advanced stuff with "button up" special moves and safe jumps at the end. Basically, there's a little something for everyone from beginner to expert.
I hope you enjoy them.

thanks for the Advanced Tutorial, I really didn't know how useful Safe Jumps can be, I'd use them, but I didn't think about the split second frame of invulnerability, it was something I learned from the pros without much thought behind it.
Perfect. Just what I needed to read.
Great stuff! I used to be pretty decent but I hadn't played for years and now I'm getting owned on HD. It's actually a good time to work in the advanced stuff as I'm retraining myself since I'm familiar enough to understand it but still out of practice enough to develop better habits. Nice work.
What are some other good resources to help improve my ST game? Is there anywhere that will tell me about match up advantages and how to exploit certain characters weaknesses?
First thanks for the videos they are great help for us all.
second i was wondering is there any trick to comboing into SUPERS? for example With RYU doing a low mid kick into a super. do i just have to input the 2x qcf really fast during the animations of the mid kick into the super or is there a trick to it?
i have been attempting to pull of this combo but cant get the SUPER to come out...with RYU Cross over mid kick, Foward FP, low MK into SUPER. any help?
roah, try doing the super motion WHILE you're busting out the cr.MK
Basically, do qcf, then on the second qcf when you hit down to start, hit MK, then roll to df, f to finish the motion and hit punch to finish the super motion. Try timing this outside of the cross up combo first.
These videos are very useful for the new Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix out for the PSN and XBL. Not many people might know that but they can be used to learn how to play that game as well.
I said it on the old site and I'll say it again, this is pretty good for both SF noobs and vets that could use a tune-up. Though I miss the long list of comments with that creepy stalker-nerd harassing Sirlin to talk to him, that was pretty hilarious.
This is a great help as I am a beginner and have just got myself SF2THDR.
I still find that charges which lead on to a bit longer special moves never work for me though (e.g. Chun Li's Super).
Any tips?
What competitions have you won? No mention of it on Wikipedia, no clear mention of it on your site....
For a champion to give advice they usually are a champion right? It's like taking financial advice from a homeless deranged person.....
Correct me if I'm wrong.. You've won some big tournaments before..Right?
Edited by Sirlin: First of all, your confrontational tone is not appreciated. Machiavelli was not a King, but he gave great advice to kings, so your premise is deeply flawed. Next, I won East Coast Championships 3, ECC4, and some later one, I think it was ECC9. I won several SFAlpha 2 tournaments (Choi, Valle, and I won the most in that game). I won a Puzzle Fighter tournament in Chicago. The last two years at Evolution Worlds, I got 5th in ST. There's more, but what is your point here, again? Just to be confrontational, to add nothing, and to promote a flawed premise that I am somehow unqualified to even speak about strategy?
Thanks dude, my PS3 shows up this week and the first thing I am doing is downloading SF2THDR.
